Petrol and diesel hit record lows

Filling up is up to 11 euros cheaper than a year ago

In the last months of 2024, fuel prices in Spain have experienced a notable fall, reaching levels not seen since the beginning of 2022. According to data from the European Union Oil Bulletin, the average price per litre of petrol stood at 1.487 euros, while diesel fell to 1.367 euros.

This downward trend has been a relief for drivers, especially in Galicia, where filling an average 55-litre tank now costs between 78 and 85 euros, representing a saving of up to 11 euros compared to the same period last year.

Lower fuel prices have also contributed to the moderation of inflation in September, which stood at 1.51TPR3T, the lowest level since March 2021.

These prices remain below the EU average, with a litre of petrol at 1.667 euros and a litre of diesel at 1.639 euros.

With these developments, fuel prices are expected to remain stable or even continue to fall in the coming months, which will be a relief for consumers and an opportunity to promote more economical and sustainable mobility.
